History documented...
Recently I have come across the work of Albert Khan and have been both moved and inspired. Not a photographer himself, but a financier in the early 1900s, who funded photographers to travel the globe documenting the diversity of human existence. His aim was to promote understanding and peace by documenting varying cultures.
The BBC have put together a documentary showcasing his works alongside an insightful commentary of the Balkan Wars 8 October 1912 – 18 July 1913.
Here are links to the 3 parts which can be watched via you tube.
